Kiss 108's Music

I really cannot believe it, but I have noticing an improvement in the music that they have been playing. I find myself listening to the station much longer now than I have been in recent months. I guess I am not as old as I thought.

That's super, not to mention insightful. Thanks for sharing!

Your welcome! :)

After some lean years in the middle of the decade, the format is getting better as a whole again. 2007 was great, and there's some good rhythmic product out there right now as well.

Why are you talking about his welcome?

I'm sure he meant YOU'RE welcome. Back to Kiss 108, they are sounding a bit better these days. They don't seem quite as repetitive, but they're playing a lot of different stuff.

Thats because "Lemon Jack " is no longer in Boston.

Yes he is, Bozo the Clown. From what I hear he's in EVERY music meeting and is in on EVERY music change the station sees.
That is correctomundo! Caddy is still very much in charge over in Boston. ;)

They refreshed their miniscule recurrent/gold library a few weeks ago, for the first time in an entire year. That is likely very much contributing to the station sounding a bit fresher.

Also, there is a good crop of pop songs in the top 10 or top 20 right now.

Well someone is doing something differently, because this is the best Kiss has sounded in a while.

I've been noticing better currents on the station. It appears that the station is moving back towards a more pop direction.

???

When did it move away from a pop direction?

At one point in the not-too-distant past, Kiss was playing a lot of rock-based recurrents (Bon Jovi "Livin' on a Prayer" comes to mind) that didn't belong on a CHR... they seemed as though they were inching much closer toward Hot AC than CHR. The current sound is much more of a true CHR - and it doesn't hurt that the pop music scene really couldn't be hotter than it is now.

I am thinking more like too much Justin Timberlake and Akon and music like that instead. They still play Bon Jovi I think. I caught Pearl Jam's "A Better Man" played recently, as well as The Red Hot Chili Peppers "Over The Bridge" too.

1) "Under the Bridge"

2) "Livin' On A Prayer" is relevant to Kiss' older audience as a dayparted gold title. One gold title does not mean that a station is not "pop." Pop encompasses everything.
