Kiss 95.3 Portsmouth NH area?

maybe keep the same, but make 95.3 rhythmic leaning?

>>put country on 107.1 and hot AC/CHR on 95.3

but is WUBB's butt being kicked by 'OKQ? Maybe this is why they're changing. Not sure of ratings, but...

If the Portsmouth "Kiss to be" sounded more like Jam'n in Boston, with Matty in the Morning, wouldn't that cause a bit of confusion since both Kiss 108 and Jam'n get in there pretty good already ? Sort of eat at WERZ's pie ?

WERZ is pretty ACish, aren't they? They could do what they did in Boston and have WERZ continue along the lines of an AC/CHR hybrid and take 95.3 CH/Urban - like JAMN. So, they do not necessarily need to change the format at 107.1 at all - slight adjustments would do just fine.

Be glad that someone seems to be thinking outside of the box and looking into a new format that's not classic rock based and/or given the name of an old man (Frank) or of a single-syllable animal (Hawk, Wolf, Cat, Bear, Dog, Skunk, etc.). ;)

Yes, WERZ has been a Hot AC for at least a year or two now. 98.7 WBYY is a fairly soft AC so WERZ has room to adjust if necessary with WUBB becoming a mainstream CHR. I'm not sure Matty would fit well with an R/CHR, if the website is indeed for real.

And as far as I know, WUBB has been a ratings bust since it launched, just like the Seacoast's last country war between WOKQ and whatever 105.3 was called until F-J purchased it to make it "Arrow". Even though the country shares are there, there's just no way automation and a weak signal can compete against a powerhouse like WOKQ 97.5

They're on to us! Both pages are now blank. The kiss953.com is def. registered to Clear Channel. Could
be just a ruse to divert us from what may really happen...if anything.

Now they're saying sports???

This is what it now says at http://www.kiss953.com:

"Coming Soon! Sports Radio Get the latest sports news here: http://msn.foxsports.com "

So, are they leading us on a wild goose chase? Or...sports talk on FM? Note that Fox Sports
emanates from Premiere, associated with Clr Chnl...maybe they just want to drive some
web traffic to MSN/Fox Sports, or...?

The OM used to work in Bangor, they ran Fox sports on WNSX before they sold it to Mark Osborne & Natalie Knox. He's a programming genius, so I bet that's the flavor of the week.

If I ran CC Portsmouth I'd make WUBB Fox Sports in a heartbeat! I'd move the Sox from WQSO(96.7 the WAVE) to WUBB and get the C's or Bruins for the winter. WUBB already has the NASCAR stuff...Fox Sports Radio is very good plus Jim Rome Noon to 3pm, Sounds like a strong "line up" to me. I'd also get Imus back on WQSO.

CC Portsmouth also has a AM (WMYF) that's running the Music of Your Life - there's no way that format could be billing too well, and it would seem that would be a much better home for Fox Sports Radio. I recall that station being a progressive talk candidate several years back. But maybe I'm just swayed by the excess of sports talk FMs in New England....

I don't think WUBB can not pick up Sox with their Nascar obligations. I believe they run the Truck Series - which is a Saturday schedule.

WMYF consistantly ranks in Arbitron. Though about a 2 share, it fills a nice nitche, and has very loyal listeners. That station won't flip to sports, GIP & GIN could.

95.3 hasn't been a strong ratings contender since it was Cool 95.3 in the 90's. It was flipped to Heat 95.3 around 1996-ish, I believe, and then to B-95.3 around 1998 (but don't quote me.) It's tough when half of your signal goes out to sea.

Not sure what they really are doing with 95.3 - but I doubt it'll be Fox Sports, unless since this Nassau deal with EEI fell thru, CC figured they'd get a piece of the pie.

But seriously, who the heck knows.

But the WEEI/Nassau deal involved a pretty venerable product. I don't see FSN attracting that level of listener interest.

Exactly, people in New England want to hear about New England teams, not southern college football, which it what it seems like they're talking about on Fox Sports every time I hear it.

Via a post on boston-radio-interest: WUBB is (for now) simulcasting WQSO, and it's been noted
wubb.com now redirects to that "sports coming soon" page.

interesting, unless it's another wild goose chase for us to take part in, courtesy of CC
When you click on wubb.com, for a split second (before the redirect) you can still see
the "continuous country 95.3 FM" at the top of your browser page.

According to a post on boston-radio-interest there's an ad in the Union Leader saying:

>>No it's not a new lipstick--It's not a dating service either-It's the best kiss the seacoast will ever have
Monday January 14th Stay Tuned."

So there it is, kiss 95.3 (//WXKS-FM's Matty in the Morning, perhaps)

btw I remember not long after the Kiss 108 bumper stickers came out, someone started putting
out anti- stickers, saying KissOFF--Disco Sucks...
