font=Verdana]Is Kiss 95.7 doing that bad in the ratings? And why does Clear Channel have 2 Top 40 Stations. They cover the same area. They overlap way too much. Why not combine them and put it on a stronger frequency?

95.7 is a "strong frequency" to cover the Hartford market and 101.3 is a "strong frequency" to cover the New Haven market. Yes, they are separate markets. And yes, there are plenty of places that get both equally well, but there are some that don't. They don't "cover the same area." WKCI is a non-player in Suffield; WKSS is a non-player in Stratford.
I wouldn't say KISS is doing badly. They seem to have numbers comparable to most markets' #1 CHR station. They do way better than KC in Hartford and they often beat KC in New Haven. I personally like KISS's rap lean and seldom like what I hear playing on KC101. Considering how much they've cut back, I think their music is right on.
