Kiss 95.7 The God Honest Truth

Alot of peopl have shown there dis taste for Kiss 95.7. my question to you is, what do you ot like about them? The Personalities, Imaging, or the Music roatation?

They actually seem to have a life again a couple of years ago. Today, I nearly never listen to them. They sound unprofessional at times with some of their songs seemingly being played in mono. Outside of maybe Courtney from the morning show, I wouldn't know a single personality at that station today.

watch the you tube video...think about all the talent through the years....and then listen now.
sad....very, very sad.

There is nothing to like. The only people that could possibly be OK with this station is those who do not remember when the station had any sense of quality. I think they are dumbing down the expectations of the next generation of radio listeners so that cheap automated awful programming is acceptable to them. I hope it backfires.

[I like the music on Kiss better than KC101. I also like how Kiss speeds up the music 3%.]

Agreed, On roadtrips I usually look for the Tip 40 or Hot AC stations that speed up their music. It just sounds more alive and upbeat to me.

Ahh, the ancient trick resurfaces...the speed-up of the music.

Yep, have to agree, it does seem more alive at a higher speed. I remember one AC station back in the 70s in Chambersburg PA which I swear had a 6% speed-up...

Yep, cheapening...an industry-wide problem not just relegated to Kiss Hartford...

Yep, the dummy down effect...awful on all kinds of levels, especially when you have so-called announcers without a brain cell trying to say something absolutely irrelevant to the listener. More of that going on than I care to tell! This is why we have the 'Jack & Frank' show...you know, formats without a host. Was bound to happen.

If only Radio went 'old school'...back to where there were industry standards (rules)...things would be like they were when I was young, Radio meant something to everyone, and talent (that's personality) was really personable - could relate to the listener decently. Some of it still exists out there, and it still catches the ears of lots of people who crave good radio.

We've pushed the envelope so far and so hard that it's long exited through an open window.

And given the status of radio today, it wouldn't surprise me if a radio exec or 2 jumped out the window to chase down that envelope. ;D
