KISS 98.5 music.

Does KISS 98.5 still plays a lot of recurrents such as "dream of You" by Selena or "I need You" by LeAnn Rhymes or other old recurrents? This radio station reminds me of the old Z95.7 in San Francisco back in 1998 when they mixed currents and recurrents music.

no..they have strayed away from that..mostly current now

KISS went down the "cheesy wedding song" path twice. Once, back in the post Paul Cannon days, and recently. Seems ratings went in the slumper too. CHR fans don't really want to hear 80's songs in the mix. Even 30 something CHR fans.

BTW, what's with the countdown thing on Friday ? I suppose the blessing is one doesn't have to hear "look out weekend, here I come" again.

Amen to that...
All access had a terrific interview with their new PD Jimmy Steel. They are shaking off the 'super dave' situation. Things have cleaned up nicely.

They should embrace the booty-shakin 90s, as several other CHR/Top 40 stations have done, the Sir Mix a lot, Digital Underground, rather than regress to 1984.
I agree about Debbie Deb. I remember them running tapes of jocks 'broadcasting live' from various bars (Party Zone?)
It's starting as summer approaches. They are spinning their currents like crazy, i've seen 80 plus spins on "Switch" and "We belong together"

That's the Kiss I liked. They've always dayparted a touch, but only on "extreme" songs. Here's hoping they cross the genres of music like they once did. I can remember back in the day when you could hear Patrick Swayze, White Lion, JJ Fad & Expose.

I've noticed they've gone back to being "the number 1 hit music station" dropping the WNY reference.

A few weeks ago Kiss gave 99 spins to "Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani and had several songs in power rotation with 80+ spins. Its refreshing to hear the top hits more often instead of being overwhelmed with tired recurrent and gold songs when Dave universal was in charge.

*new* KISS 98.5 music.

A fourteen or fifteen year old in Toronto that, if lucky, still listens to the station instead of resorting to his/her <S>iPOD</s> MP3 portion of the new PSP portable system.
