This reminds me of a few years ago when you could hear Norah Jones/"Don't Know Why" on CHR/Pop, Urban AC, AAA, Hot AC, AC, Soft AC, Smooth Jazz, and even Adult Standards stations. I doubt it ever got any airplay on Country or CHR/Rhythmic, but I do know the music video for "Don't Know Why" was aired on BET.
Anyway, according to Mediabase, James Blunt is currently at #94 on the CHR/Rhythmic chart, and is being played on WRDW in Philadelphia, WRVZ in Charleston, WV, WPOW in Miami, and KKWD in Oklahoma City. (I know know about the others, but WRDW primarily targets a white and Hispanic audience, and is known to play pop songs which don't really "fit" the Rhythmic format.)
I also noticed that some brave Country station played Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" once this week. Also, Carrie Underwood's "Inside Your Heaven" got 17 spins from Country stations, even though Country radio basically ignored it when it first became a hit on pop radio formats. And on the other hand, the current #1 Country hit -- "What Hurts The Most" by Rascal Flatts -- got a modest 67 spins this week on CHR/Pop.
