Kiss FM Friday Free for All

Now only 5-6:30p. Ruined a brillant idea. That was their chance to put away B 96 for good and they are not even bright enough to realize it. It was good while it lasted. I think my days of listening to that station are numbered.

Brian...I think it has been this way for the last 2 Fridays? It was over with quick last Friday for sure. When this started...Mack even took off with it. Why would you stop at 630...on a Friday night? ??? Just like I said before...they will find a way to ruin it.

Here's what I think:

Great music. Just what Chicago needs on the radio. A lot of this stuff takes me way back.

Wrong station. Putting the wrong type of music on a staton that targets the wrong audience. Its not a rhythmic CHR or urban station and the music is pretty much all simply gold rhythmic CHR/urban for the most part. The majority of the audence that listens to WKSC is between the ages of 13 and 25. The majority of the people who remember the music on the feature (not including myself) are in their upper 20s, 30s and 40s. So its probably turning away their target audience.

I personaly think they should try doing something like this on either WGCI, WVAZ (the former WBMX-FM) or WLIT.

Another idea would be drop Gospel from 102.7 HD-2 since they already have WGRB running the format and put this on 102.7-2 and promote the crap out of it. If not that, maybe start an HD-3. A similar format to Friday Free For All is already running on WGCI HD-2. This type of thing is what will get people to buy HD radios.

Jeremy, I have to somewhat disagree. Not everyone who listens to KISS FM (or any other CHR for that matter) is 25 years old or younger, you do have some older listeners as well.
Besides, there are lots of stations that have younger/older audience demos that have "throwback" shows.
A lot of these younger listeners need to realize that if wasn't for old school, there wouldn't be any new school.

WKSC had The Back In The Day Buffet but they dumped that when Rick Gillette became consultant. The station is slowly becoming Channel 95-5 Chicago. Playlists are almost identical.
