Kiss FM now Rhythmic?

I checked 102.3 Kiss FM's playlist recently and it seems they've dropped the adult/pop-rock product... when did they change to Rhythmic CHR? I can remember it being Mainstream as recently as a couple weeks ago... (seems to be Premium Choice Rhythmic too)

I happened to be scanning my car's FM dial last night and came across 102.3. Sounded good. Go for it KISS FM! The more beats the better! Anything to break up the drudgery of Capital Region radio.

Same thing has happened with 96.1 in Poughkeepsie, same moniker, same rhythmic CHR than 102.3 in Albany.

Both stations are now using the Rhythmic CHR "Premium Choice" playlist from San Antonio. Same exact playlist, song by song. Jocks are the same unless someone is local. 96.1 actually sounds halfway decent these days.

Premium Choice on KISS 96.1 is a gift for Pamal. As long as K104 stays local it will be #1.

If you look at the breakouts... Kiss was even higher when they got most of the syndicated talent. Either number 1 or tied. It's sad...but I'm not sure it makes a difference...

Well...50,000w will always beat 6,000w.

Not necessarily. It wasn't that long ago that KISS 96.1 was within striking distance of K104 in Poughkeepsie. That's when KISS had live and local content while SPK had an albatross morning show. Sure, 50k will get you a bigger audience overall, but you can still be beaten in the metro.

WHUD covers the Poughkeepsie market with 50k watts and Lite FM is beating them.
