Does anyone know the reasoning as to why they are now calling it 06.1 kiss fm? They are just leaving out the first "1". All the jingles have deleted it too.

No earthly idea, but here's a few suggestions:
1. The station will flip on 6/1/2011 back to "Classic Rock Without the Heavy Metal."
2. Justin Bieber's birthday is 6/1 (he's hitting his "Terrible Two's" next year!)
3. When the temperature hits 61 degrees for the first time this fall, the 18th (national) caller wins $1.06.
4. They are introducing their new HDTV channel "6.1," where you'll see Kraddick delivering the morning show over your TV set.
5. Maybe it's a statement about Clear Channel: What 6 people used to do around there, only one does now.
6. It's the Clear Channel stock split...6-for-1. Makes the pool of shares look very handsome.
7. It's the new Kiss work schedule...6 on, 1 off.
8. They're jealous of I-93 having a two-digit frequency instead of 3.
9. CC is leasing rights to the first digit. Next week, it's "GEI-Co-6-point-one." Later, it's Verizon-oh-six-point-one.
10. They are no longer #1, and refuse to use the "1" again until they're back on top.

Maybe they're giving out tickets to see One Republic hence the 1?
According to the website, a recent celebrity that visited the station apparently "stole" the 1 and now its up to the listeners to solve the KISStery of the missing 1. $5000 award
