That's Cold! Dude! to compare them to that.
 
Upon relistening, I should never have compared them to Meredith and Vince, which is hands down the worst show in Lubbock, possibly in radio.

I just think the KISS show sounds very amateurish. I don't know the names of the players but the young guy co-host is unoriginal and not funny and actually has a very bad voice. The bits seem somewhat contrived and forced. Just not a show I predict gets much traction in this market. It's a poor imitation of the Craddick show and not nearly as well produced.

I honestly think the station as a whole sounds "amateurish." I think the Party Playhouse has a great playlist (even though I get tired of hearing celebrity gossip). Bobby Bones is OK. I've laughed at it a couple times (even though the feed has audio problems sometimes). Other than that, I have seen zero improvements with this station since the flip from Z102.

You'd think a Lubbock station would think about going after KZII because the outlook for Kiss FM (or should I say, the SAME ol' Z102, except with Kiss FM jingles) does not look good if it continues in this direction. Sticking in some Kiss FM jingles but changing nothing else more does NOT cut it. 102.5 Kiss FM = the same ol' Z102 -- local playlist is still terrible (hearing Boom Boom Pow every 45 minutes gets old quick), I'm getting tired of hearing the same ol' guy mumble "KZII-FM Lubbock" at the top of the hour -- I won't even go on with what else I think is wrong with the station right now. I think y'all get the point.

I really hope things improve with this station -- I really do, but right now, I see nothing changing -- which is a shame because I thought Kiss FM would have a lot of potential in this market (maybe it still does if they improve things quick enough).
 
The Lubbock Kiss Morning show beats Kraddick in Austin, and in Wichita KS. Two other markets they are both in. Sounds like you have a personal issue with the show

Spot On.

no one has found the formula for Top-40 at gap or anywhere else. but i know one thing you have to have a good morning show to be successful anywhere. Mix has Craddick, and does well in mornings because everyone else is so bad in that demographic.
 
You guys have been complaining about Z/Kiss forever...just for the record, name a couple of chrs that you do think sound "right".
 
EXACTLY RIGHT!

My "complaints" about 102.5, are really more about running the station, but not about the format
Format-wise, Kiss sounds all right.

There are problems technically. My big beef is with that constant feedback whistle, that makes the station unlistenable at times. I don't care for overly repeated songs, but even I have to admit, that's the format, not the station.

I do like that Kiss is playing more dance music and less of the urban stuff that 104.9 and 104.3 floods the market with.

Check out 98.9 Kiss FM in Oklahoma City, I believe the calls are KYIS. That station has always had a good CHR "sound" to it. I believe Chris Baker is still at the helm (the guy is the ultimate radio pimp). . Good sounding station IMO.
 
the kiss morning show, ALL shows of its type are trying to sound like craddick, of which, i do not like.. and i won't go into it now. so good bad or indifferent, the answer is...they don't CARE! that show is on for the same reason there are VT'ers from out of town on the station, they don't want to PAY A N Y O N E! to be on the air live locally. in the unlikely event it wins, great, if it tanks..so what, they saved $$$$$, and if they need to save more, the 1 local show they have will be replaced too with a tracker from India. there's your nugget of truth for the day.
