"Kiss"mas is coming...

It's that time of year again...

Do you think we'll have three stations flooding the Raleigh market with Kissmas--- er, Christmas--- music again like last year when the format was up for grabs after Sunny morphed into Kiss? I'm pretty sure Mix 101.5, the local Delilah affiliate, will be one of the Christmas stations, but who else do you think will start it up, and who do you think will be the first to start playing it?

MIX fer shore...Y maybe...a 3 share is better than a 1 or 2...can't see Kiss...huge mistake last year...maybe RDU...nice segue into a new format in 09?

 Mabe some Christmas music will help..A lot of people I know don't have very much money for the season due to the economy..How do you think this will affect Christmas spot sales on the local and national level. I have seen several major jewelers in the area already hitting TV with Christmas ads!

I know the economy is wierd these days, but unless you have lost your job, or live off of investments, there is not much that impacted your purchasing power. Some inflation - certainly gas prices and groceries - but most people have what they had a year ago. Problem is, most have spent with credit in the past and this year may find it harder to get!

Keeping this about radio, it is a good thing this was a big election year. A lot of stations will have a weak fourth qquarter.

wtqr is playing christmas music now!

I didn't hear any "Kiss"mas music on TQR, but the Delilah affiliates (i.e. Mix and WMAG), are starting to get into it--- so far, only during Delilah's show, but that will soon change within the next week or two...

Now let's see if 94.1 goes Christmas as well! You gotta think WMAG went so early because they're concerned about competition for their beloved Christmas music.

I'm waiting to see if Kiss joins the party again this year. Y so far is still only playing "Kiss"mas music on their Carolina Christmas Music webstream (while still playing their regular music on the air), but Mix is now all-"Kiss"mas, not just during Delilah. Last year, Kiss joined the party at 5PM the Friday before Thanksgiving... which is what today is. Stay tuned...

They never have.

Good news after Christmas: they're alone among commercial FMs reaching the Charlotte market.

WRBK is noncommerecial and reaches only the south side.

WAIZ is pretty much daytime only and reaches only the norethwest end.

That leaves ... Majic!

Looks like the sun really has gone down on 93.9 playing "Kiss"mas music; Mix is the only one in Raleigh going all-"Kiss"mas, while Y is only playing it on carolinachristmasmusic.com--- go to the regular site or on the air, and Y is still playing their regular format--- and Kiss seems to have abandoned it altogether :(
Mix's G'boro counterpart and fellow Delilah affiliate WMAG is G'boro's "Kiss"mas station.

MERRY "KISS"MAS!

For some reason, this term makes me want to barf. I have nothing against Christmas music overall, but that's just so cutesy that it's disgusting.

 That leaves ... Majic!

"The BIG APE" is never wrong!

Actually, it was, in fact, 93.9 who coined that term, last year when they did play it, they called it "Kiss"mas music after their name Kiss FM :-*

106.1 The Rooster goes "Kiss"mas...

... at least, for now, these last couple days before "Kiss"mas... who knows what format they'll be when everybody goes back to their regular formats on Friday...

I've been out of the market for a couple of years but still come around occasionally... are there any changes rumored to be coming to 93.9 after "Kiss"mas?
