Hamp,
I do know what you know. You said it in your post. Clear Channel programs all the stations the same. They push the same songs in all markets.
Problem is, Hamp, you never prove yourself. You don't give any substance to your claims. You have an opinion, and that's great. But you spout claims without any kind of support to back them up. In order to win an argument you have to have a good knowledge of what you're talking about and have evidence to support your claims. You always resort to then saying that whenever I disagree with you, I must work for for them or they're my friend.
I did, however, prove you wrong. I used a tool to do 3 minutes worth of research to show that CC stations are not programmed the same. Each market does extensive research IN THAT MARKET and determines the rotations. If you want to utilize Mediabase and see for yourself, sign up for an Allaccess.com account and see the free version. You'll see that I'm right. You don't have to live in the city or hear it from your friends, you can see the evidence for yourself online.
Top 40 stations across the country CC and not share many of the same songs, but they differ in rotations and how they are presented. For instance, KKDM in Des Moines as I mentioned, leans rock. Hinder's "Lips of An Angel" was number 1 with almost 100 spins. WKQI in Detroit doesn't even have it in their playlist. Very few other CC top 40 stations even have that in their top 10. WAKS Cleveland has Brooke Hogan's "About Us" playing over 100 spins a week. That song is getting only 45 a week at WKSC. 5 of KKDM's top 10 are rock songs, all 10 of WKSC's top 10 are rhythmic.
Shall I continue?
