Kiss107 Morning Team Out Also

Isn't Dayton run out of a closest already. They would have a hard time cutting a Robo Jock.

Not quite. They still have a few live folks in the building, including live/local morning shows on Mix(THREE live people, unreal for a CC station), & Lite, live Channel jock/PD in the afternoon, Tilford & B-Man on 'TUE, and Shaun Vincent in afternoon drive on Mix.

If one becomes disgusted with the reality of terrestrial radio, find alternatives. I do. I almost never listen to terrestrial radio, even in the car.
What the future is for terrestrial I do not have the answer, but there are a lot of good operators of internet radio that is free and easy to access from a variety of sources. plus since it is soooo easy to do, you get a lot of original, creative content.
From what I can tell, the more successful operators, do the same things hat the successful terrestrials do, play he hits. With little interruption. That is what a lot of the groaning is on these posts, repetition and lack of depth in the playlists, etc. But it is a recipe for success. It is what the listeners want.
Now there is a niche market for alternative ideas in programming. But if you want the biggest audience that equals the biggest return on your investment, then following the tried and true IS the way to go.
I always said if I ever owned a terrestrial, I would do what the money dictated. That is business and the nature of this beast we love called, radio.

If they hit Dayton:

Channel 999 will lose local PD Steven Lewis who also happens to be their live afternoon guy, pretty much the only live and local thing they have on the station. He doesn't program any music though, just does remotes, produces imaging, will do some cool weekend stuff like throwback weekends, etc.

Mix 1077 will become completely premium choice, which honestly, I prefer over the music they have on there now. Completely lost in the 80s still. Look for them to grab some canned syndicated morning show OR look for that to be just about the only thing they do leave.

Lite might as well become prem choice just like Mix 1033 out of Lima.

Mix will always be lost in the 80s with Jeff Stevens aboard. No offense to Jeff, who I think is one fine, excellent human being...I just don't agree with the direction Mix has taken. If it was me, I'd make it an Adult CHR and make Channel a full-blown CHR/Rhythmic leaner like they used to do when they were on 94.5 pre-PC. It sounds like Steven Lewis has his hands tied over there as far as the music goes. Someone has told him I'm sure to run PC and not mess with the logs. I'm shocked that basically CC has left Mix alone over the years. Jeff, Kristi and Dave mornings, Kristi and Jeff middays, Shaun Vincent afternoons, and whomever is doing nights over there now(Doreen was for awhile). Maybe they've left 'MMX alone since it's their last cash cow left in the building? At least their SummerFest didn't feature stale, old 80s acts. That's a good thing. I look for the axe to drop on CC/Dayton any time now. We'll see what happens in the weeks to come. I sure hope no one loses their gigs over there. Sadly, it's the reality of radio these days.

This is totally the name of the game for the future of radio. CC has huge debt payments to make, and the cuts this year are going to be bigger than ever. Got to be fun for the mgmt team in Cincinnati to realize the only reason they are there is to be the bearer of bad news when they have to tell folks to see you down the road, no you can't go back to the studio to get your headphones, we will mail them to you, and sorry you had such a short stay...have you heard of short selling the house you just bought?

It's Clear Channel's own fault, for buying up as many stations as they have in the country.

I've always hated that rule that a company could own up to eight stations in one market.

Legally in most states they have to let you get your personal things at that time. Just let them call the cops. It is your personal property. Tell them you are to bring charges (just a bluff, there is nothing to gain, what manager wants to risk an arrest. They should make you sign a "inventory sheet" of all the stuff you are taking. If they insist on gathering up you stuff and mailing it they are opening up themselves to small claims court for your "missing" stuff. Of course if you play hard ball they can whammy any kind of severance package and I would not use them as a reference!

It seems you've all mistaken programming changes for CC budget cuts.

These appear to be changes based on performance and will actually result in a net loss of ZERO jobs.  The WEBN PD who was fired has already been replaced and if rumors are true, Mark & Mo will also be replaced.  So, where are the "cuts?"

KISS morning show was not fired, even though that was the Enquirer's headline.  They are both still with the station.  DJ Sab goes back to part time, which is what he likes to do.

So, hate CC all you want, but this looks to be changes based on a couple of terrible morning shows that weren't performing, and a PD who was replaced by a guy who will now be FM Operations Manager.

Maybe, but cutting said shows loose so quickly isn't helping matters.

Where are they moving Mark and Mo to? I don't understand how someone can expect a morning duo to turn a station around in 6 months that's had sinking ratings for years. The ratings were going up, not down.

microbob, are they not allowed to save money? That's not my point anyway. The two morning hosts on KISS were not fired. They still work there.

Matt, I don't understand what you mean. Those two shows were not working. best to cut them loose than keep them around.

Alan, do you have MORNING SHOW numbers that you can show me? The whole station was slowly going up, but what was the morning show doing? They have an aopportunity to bring in someone better, so I think they'll do it. I never said they were moving Mark & Mo anywhere. I'm talking about the number of jobs at WEBN.
