KISS95.7, KoolOldies96.1 & 96.5TIC

What do you think the opinion of the management of WKSS & WTIC is on KoolOldies/96.1?

As we know, 'KSS & 'TIC have been competitors for years.

But, for a lower-powered station that is smack-dab in the middle of their dial position, & even plays some of the music that 96TICS (& even DRC-FM) used to play, it may be a "pain" to them.

Also, what would you think of 96.1 if you were in mgmt. @either of the stations?

Didn't TIC-FM listeners (or TIC-FM management sock puppets pretending to be listeners, as I always suspect in these second-adjacent interference issues) complain about interference and force Kool to revise its pattern to take it away from Hartford?

As far as music goes, though, I don't think either 95.7 or 96.5 are significantly impacted by 96.1. If anything, Kool may be peeling a few older listeners away from WHCN, which does share a decent number of songs with Kool, especially in the '80s.

What if Full Power Radio flip-flopped KOOL Radio and BOMBA-FM? Put KOOL Radio on the 98.5 translator and put BOMBA-FM on the 96.1 translator and flip the COLs? And while we're at it - Why is the BOMBA-FM translator on 99.5 still licensed to Clinton? Why don't they change the COL to Waterbury since 99.5's antenna is in Waterbury.

I'm willing to bet the company is making more money with BOMBA than with KOOL.

I don't understand why 99.5 is still licensed to Clinton when the translator is now in Waterbury. In fact, get rid of the COL stuff. If a station is in a city with a signal that covers a wider area, the station is responsible for that wider area, not just the one city. Also, there are four stations licensed to Waterbury, but only one of them is in Waterbury, with the other three being a long distance away.

BOMBA 99.5 advertises on a billboard next to I-84 in Waterbury.
