KISW Changes

How long will BJ last in the morning slot? If the station is so excited about bringing BJ on, why don't they just put him on the air the day after Stern's final live show? Are 2 weeks of reheated Stern better than BJ broadcasting a live show?

Aren't they (Entercom/KISW) under contract to run Howard until the end of the year?

they can pull Howard whenever they want. Many other stations have already. They just have to pay out the rest of the contract they have with Infinity for his syndication. As far as why not start BJ after Howard, most shows go on 2 week vacations over the holidays. I think the ratings period is over and does not start back up until the first of the year. Someone with more knowledge of the ratings can confirm this or correct this.
______________
The BJ Shea Morning Experience
5am - 10am on 99.9 KISW
Coming January 3rd.

I imagine it has to do with show prep, they have lots of bumbers and things to cut. Not to mention they said before they went off air there some things still being negotiated

2 weeks of Stern doing nothing but farting into the microphone would still be more entertaining than BJ Shea at his best. Hence the two week delay.

Morning is about keeping a pace. BJ lacks the ability to get to a topic in an hour. How is he going to keep things moving for drive time? The idea of hearing him rant and ramble inbetween constant weather and traffic reports is enough to make me want to go buy some more CD's.

Yes.
