Apparently KISW got a letter from the FCC about their content... anyone have any details about it?

Sounds like the Jack Thompson interview from a couple of weeks ago on The BJ Shea Experience and the way BJ handled it might have got Jack to pen a letter to the FCC...Sounds like something that spineless piece of garbage would do...KISW has been delaying and dumping "questionable content" on the air for a while now...

Network Television, Oprah and other syndicated "TV talk" shows deal with issues that are way more controversial and are talked about in a more graphic manner than BJ's show EVER HAS...Hopefully Entercom's legal department would back up their product and defend BJ and his shows content by using these other programs as example against the complaint lodged...Either Way, this is some SERIOUS garbage that needs to be clearly dealt with by Entercom's legal department by demanding clear rules and actual situations of "what the public interest is" according to government regulations...

Now I'm curious....who is Jack Thompson and why would he write FCC? Sounds like those times where the "moral majority" would get people to petition licenses and advertisers because their allergies to things like free speech would overtake their ability to just switch a channel.... Can't remember whose quote it was but I always loved it:
"The Moral Majority is neither"

John Bruce "Jack" Thompson (born July 25, 1951) is a Coral Gables, Florida-based American attorney and activist against obscenity and violence in media and entertainment. Thompson describes himself as a Christian conservative and a Republican.[1]

After an initial foray into politics, Thompson concentrated his efforts on activism against obscenity in rap music. More recently he has focused on violence as well, particularly in the content of computer and video games and their effect on children. This includes lobbying for legislation restricting distribution of these games and filing lawsuits on behalf of the victims of crimes committed by juveniles allegedly inspired by violent video games.

Oddly enough, he thinks the suit against Howard Stern is a load of crap.

Jack Thompson IS the reason you see "Explicit Advisory" stickers on certain rap albums...

Jack is like L. Brent Bozell of the Parents Television Council and Media Research Center...They, as a group, target a station, product, personality or music artist they find "offensive" and send groups of republican activists to monitor the stations he believes are "morally corrupt and have questionable content" that could be heard or viewed by children during the hours of 6am to 10pm...It's that simple...

Next, the group of people begin writing letters to the FCC and gang up on complaints about a stations content...They monitor the stations for the content that might be deemed "questionable" after a certain number of complaints are filed, the FCC sends out a letter asking about what's going on...

How many conservative, "neo-nazi like" idiots can pen a letter and send e-mail to the FCC??...Better yet, who says it's not a chain letter passed on by a foundation of certain political interest group...This guy and "his friends" go after people...

BJ is in a tough spot because Howard Stern was Delayed and EDITED for a long time...For the first 2 months or so it seemed the regulations had been lifted a bit yet in an non-offensive way...There is NOTHING BJ and Crew have done that renders the FCC's attention...If KISW is going to be fined, it will be for something that has aired previous to the show starting on KISW...

"There is NOTHING BJ and Crew have done

Either your not in radio, or your part of the "crew." EVERY time I listen to BJ's show I hear it cross the line. EVERY SINGLE TIME... and I don't even listen that much. I hear KUBE's morning show cross the line too... just not in the way they do over at KISW. It seems to me that if a company invests THAT MUCH in a show someone would pull the chain and make sure those people don't screw over the investment. Radio isn't what it used to be... BJ's from the old school. Trust me, I've been to the Entercom FCC/lawyer meetings and they aren't messing around. Last I remember talking about "violating someone from behind" wasn't FCC friendly. I have a friend that is VERY conservitive and feels like she needs to "police the world." She has over 20 tapes of BJ's show. There's some pretty foul stuff on there. It blows my mind that someone can think this show is "FCC FRIENDLY." The days of "BLUE" radio are over. Someone should let them know that.

I think most of the members of that show (BJ, Steve the Producer) realize that this "Blue Humor" is being closely policed and are going to be careful of what they say. If the show gets booted for saying something that crosses the line, mark my word it will come from the mouth of Double RR. The guy is an idiot who will just blurt something out in an attempt to be funny without taking the time to realize the consequences.

Wouldn't Double RR be Quadruple R?

First off, in my book, BJ Shea's show works because of it's freedom of expression. That's what made Howard Stern work. And it's the FCCing FCC that's FCCing it all up for hosts like BJ.

I don't listen to KISW around my daughters. And second at their ages, they wouldn't know what he was talking about if they were. And THIRD...and most importantly, in all given likelihood at all - THEY ARE NOT EVEN PAYING ATTENTION TO THE RADIO ANYWAY!!!
