KISW To Launch The Daly Migs Show On January 3

Bruce Vidal compete against his wife in LA... in the same time slot even, on competing stations in the late 80s

So yes, in answer to the question, BJ will now compete against his own daughter.
Does anyone honestly think that BJ, who has publicly stated that it was Audacy's choice to not renew his contract, will blow up relationships with family members and close teammates of nearly two decades because he's now at the competition? Shea is known throughout the industry for quietly helping other radio talents going through hard times and the days of all-out "Radio WARS" are long behind us.

Absolutely not. I'm just surprised he didn't take her with him to the new gig. That's what I would have done.

maybe he tried to negotiate that and didnt get what he thought she was worth

KISW is in good shape going forward. The morning show will remain a solid part of KISW’s lineup. And I’m positive there are no hard feelings for BJ on this one (other than at Audacy perhaps). Yes, it’s a competition, but this isn’t a scenario where anybody did something for their own personal gain.

My bet is KISW remains unchanged in ratings in AM drive AND KZOK remains unchanged in AM drive over the long-term.
Family members competing against each other are not something new in radio. I am sure BJ's daughter is thrilled I-Heart picked him up and I am sure BJ is thrilled his daughter got a morning gig. Suspect both are making more money. Everyone wins. Danny retires, BJ gets a new gig and all his former team get new deals. Good for them and good for Seattle radio.
