KISW's new slogan?

This is a valid point - Now that KISW is going to be dominantly talk, what will the new slogan be? There's no way they can keep using "Seattle's Best Rock", because it's now false. Maybe "The Rock-Talk of Seattle"? HA!

They gotta do something!

There's a chance their ratings could fall like a rock.

I don't know. Their ratings might swirl around a couple of times before going down.

This will go down in Radio history as one of the dumbest moves ever done. They took a great rock station and combined it with a great talk station... and now they have one really sh*tty station that nobody likes. People either want Rock or Talk... not both on the same station. Dave Richards has proven himself to be a special breed of stupid. I wish him luck when Entercom gets a clue and fires him for destroying KISW and The Buzz.

Good God Man, I've agreed with AQH *AND* NWDUde in the same day

The end of the world surely is nigh...

I'd say it's more like a definite than a chance. This new direction for the station will probably go down as a dumber decision than hiring Rob, Arnie & Dawn to replace Rivers in 2000.

Rock and talk can survive. Howard Stern in the mornings was an excellent fit with the rest of KISW's programming...not rock, but a sensibility that the listener embraced. This current experiment is something else entirely. BJ's show alone on KISW stood a better than fair chance, but I'm not sure if this hybrid they've created can survive outside the lab.

Well, Timmy, they're the goods in Sacto - but they got here with an attitude that they'd show Seattle what good radio is. And quite frankly...they didn't.

The main reason Stern landed on KISW was because RA&D bombed so badly here.

Yeah, but them next to the "Seattle radio tombstones" of...
Gary Bryan
Steve Weed
Joe Dawson
Garrett Michaels

I believe they're carving one out for Bill West right now.

The numbers are going to fall that is a given, Stern is leaving and he was #1 in the mornings. I think though that given time BJ can build his show into a solid replacement which will survive just fine, Men's Room has a much harder road to travel and honestly if they don't pull their weight fast you could see them hitting the bricks. As for Leykis you know if Entercom can't find Leykis an afternoon slot that WW1 is going to pitch a major bitch and most likely try to land someplace else. The 10PM slot was a knee jerk reaction to an initial bad programming decision. And lets face it KISW has been around 35 years I think they will get it back between the lines soon enough.

And I have a sneaking suspicion that within a year - 94.1 will be carving one for Scott Mahalick.

Maybe they could name it after an animal! After all,"There's incredible brand image associated with animals". I wonder if "The Dingo" is still available?<P ID="signature">______________
