Boston annual Kite Festival is this Saturday, May 24 at Franklin Park Zoo ( Golf Course). This used to be a Big event for Nash Owned WILD-AM 1090 (ruin by R.O.),Now The Kite Festival is sponsor by 106.1 Touch-FM.

After seeing how CC had to pony up as a defendant in the RI nightclub fire for their part in promoting it, It would be a cold day in Hades before any LEGIT station signs on for promoting anything that happens at Franklin Park.

I agree with "Rapking" Despite being a "Pirate" radio station. Touch 106.1 does (EXCELENT!!!!!) things for the community. If you don't like that music, or don't like that station, sorry for your problem regarding that.

Like EVERY radio station in the country they are sponsoring an event to get thier station out there so they can gain some press and more listeners. How is that helping the listeners? It's self serving.
Hezbollah builds Hospitals and Schools. The Mafia sponsored many festivals in their neighborhoods.
These folks could rent time or buy a a station. Instead they decided that the law doesn't apply to them and they just put one on the air. They have been served and they continue to operate. The fact that this is okay with you is what amazes us.

Not even that but what if someone from the "community" got injured by coming into contact with thier transmitter or antenna, what recourse do they have? Do you think "Touch" has paid for the proper insurance if they are unwilling to pay for the proper licenses? What if one of thier "employees" got hurt at work? What if she or he is unable to work or god forbid dies because of the injuries they recieved while working for "Touch"? What is thier family supposed to do? I am sure that they don't have unemployment insurance, workers compensation insurance, or liability insurance because no Insurance company I know of will insure a business that does not have all of the required licenses. What happens to the families? Are they really helping the community if they are not even responsible enough to make sure that thier "employees" and the community are protected?
It amazes me how some people are so gullible in this world. "Touch FM" is clearly a business enterprise. I have listened and I have heard the advertising. They are also working very hard to get thier name and frequency out there. Almost every radio station does promotions that helps good causes like blood drives, toys for tots, USO drives, cancer walks, etc... do they do this only to help these causes? Maybe, but I think it's more likely that they look at it like this... "We can do something to help people, and also get some good press and get our station in the papers and on the news and get our frequency and call letter out there and hopefully add some listeners and increase our billing" To think that "Touch" is doing anything different than every other station is nieve at best.
