KIX 100.3?

I was just scrolling through the Birmingham listings on TuneIn and came across a logo which read "KIX 100.3", followed by the WYEA call letters in parentheses. The logo has "KIX Country 100.3" on it with "1290 AM" and "KIX1003.com" underneath it.I do remember that WYEA now holds a CP for an new FM translator at 100.3 FM. The stream on TuneIn does not connect, however. Is this evidence that WYEA is changing its format to some form of country? There is no longer a listing on TuneIn for the 106.5 FM translator WYEA had been using.

Extracted from their web site:

YEA1065.COM
YEA!106.5 AND 98.3 HD2

It looks like the classic hits format has moved to a newly created HD channel.

Yes, I pulled up the Kix1003.com website and saw where YEA 106.5 was now a rebroadcast of WFXO HD2. I listened to WFXO (the analog signal) last night and the station was IDing as "WFXO HD2". The Kix1003.com website, however, displays logos with WLMA-AM 1050 in Alex City paired with 100.3 FM, and WYEA-AM 1290 paired with 96.3 FM. I did check AM 1290 this morning and it is doing classic country as "KIX 100.3", with a message that the programming is a sample of the forthcoming Kix 100.3; the TOH ID is stated as WYEA, Sylacauga (no other FM frequencies are mentioned). Given all these logos on their site with AM 1050 and 1290 which do not match their FM translator counterparts, it's anybody's guess what the FM translator at 96.3 is/will be doing once "Kix 100.3" becomes permanent....a trimulcast or some sort or a 4-way simulcast of 1050/1290/96.3/100.3...or 96.3 goes with separate programming.

Yes, we've moved our 106.5 translator to WFXO-HD2 and are launching a new country format on 1290 AM with its new 100.3 translator. Updating our websites and apps as well as reconfiguring TuneIn and iHeartRadio is in progress.

Under the master RadioAlabama brand:

-- KiX 100.3 [100.3 FM & 1290 AM] (WYEA-AM/W262DI-FX) -- Primary coverage area: Sylacauga-Childersburg
-- Yea!106.5 [106.5 FM & 98.3 HD2] (WFXO-HD2/W293CQ-FX) -- Primary coverage area: Sylacauga-Childersburg
-- 98.3 Fox FM [98.3 FM & 98.3 HD1] (WFXO-FM) -- Primary coverage area: Sylacauga-Childersburg-Lake Martin-Alexander City-Dadeville
-- 105.1 WRFS [105.1 FM] (WRFS-FM) -- Primary coverage area: Lake Martin-Alexander City-Dadeville-Wetunpka
-- KiX 96.3 [96.3 FM & 1050 AM] (WLMA-AM/W242CP-FX) -- Primary coverage area: Alexander City-Dadeville

W262DI-FX isn't iive yet; that should happen in the next 10 days or so.

We also have a CP for WAUA-FM, a new FM on 100.3 to serve the Auburn area.
