KIX 102.9 playlist tweak?

I've noticed lately that WKIX, while still playing primarily classic hits (60s, 70s, and 80s), has lately started to include some 90s in their playlist. Most of the 90s songs I've heard there are from the early 90s, but one time I also heard "Smooth" from the late 90s (Rob Thomas/Santana). Any thoughts on this possible tweak?

It really does not matter what they've done to the playlist. It's basically a boring station with no personality or connection to the audience. A disgrace to those heritage call letters.

Radio Realtor said it best. The PD sounds like some tobacco farmer out in the fields planting.....the music is atrocious; no thought of flow, mix, tempo etc. WHAT A FREAKIN' DISASTER. Thanks you Don and Phil for another reason to hit the MP3s.

I must agree with you all who love the KIX's they have got the finger on the pults and it sounds like it but I still wander what oile Pat Patterson is doing and why can0t I here him on hear when I'm listening to the hits while spraying my pits, but you all are right it sounds great and I love those hit from the later 70's too!!!! :'( ;D (can't use too many smiley facers only a few at the time. See how easy it was? It was the countin'!!!)

News Flash. Kix102.9 has not been owned by Curtis for a few years. It is a locally owned and operated McClatchey Broadcasting station. Though that may be family, they are not part of the CMG group of stations. All they are doing is trying out some early 90s tracks. The format changes. Think about it a few early 90s songs will pull listeners from Mix. Look at the ratings, Mix took a bigger hit than they normally would have. It costs too much to subscribe for 1 station which is why Kix does not subscribe. I know one of the people over there. Kix does a great job with the format. It is not the same crap you hear on other classic hits stations. I like hearing some classic jams to some classic American Top 40 Music, to some occasional rock tracks. It beats hearing the crap that a typical classic hits station would play like say The River 1.5 years ago.

That fruit has already fallen and is hopelessly spoiled on the ground.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I'll out Smiley you SNIFFY. HA! Oh.....and I can hardly wait to hear "Sweet Home Alabama" or "More Than a Feeling"...one more time before pulling out my AR-15 and putting it in. GAWK!

MIX didn't take a hit last month. They had a previous bump up with their Christmas music. KIX has nothing to take credit for.

Anyone in Raleigh/Durham want a good imaging guy? I had a good run at KIX and would love to keep a presence in RDU..I was the last imaging guy for WTRG..

Maybe a Curtis Station needs you, doubt Cumulus in Fayetteville needs anyone. There is an independent station at 102.5 in Southern Pines that George Murfield still owns. I might need someone to make me a few new DJ Drops. I DJ at Bars and Clubs now and again. I paid a friend I used to know at WRCQ Rock103 to make me 5 drops. I just use them when I DJ sometimes.
