KIXI 880 Start date.

Hey Guys:

Would anybody know when KIXI at 910 started there Music of Your Life Nostalgia Format in 1980? I think it was around the spring of 1980 but I am trying to find out around what month.

I thought the "Music of Your Life" network started in the late 2000's when they decided to take Dan Murphy, Jim&Jim, and Janet Wilson off the air in favour of "Wink Martindale". I believe my thought at the time was "are you kidding me?"

I think KIXI was Standards for a long time before the 1980's.

Music of Your Life existed during the 1970's. Was a big format on some AM radio stations of the time.

KIXI has used MOYL a few times. Including 1980 when they flipped to Adult Standards/Nostalgia from B/EZ. They ended this deal around the time they moved to 880 in 1982. When KGAA 1460 flipped to KARR in 1984, they became the MOYL station. And this lasted until KARR was bought by Family Radio in 1986 (1460 left the air for good last February after their lease of the property of it's towers was terminated and the property sold.)
