Nice to hear that creativity is not dead after all. Personally, I do miss CKBD AM600 since it went silent (and can't get KISL AM650 clearly), so nice to know Seattle is trying again.
Just one big suggestion that I think can improve time spent listening for KIXI, and its ratings. Can someone please back off the audio processing so that it doesn't distort the bass on every song? On every radio I've tried, including one with an EQ processor, the gain is so harsh that it smushes up a lot of the music. With 50kw, I don't think excessive VOLUME is necessary for marketwide coverage. (OK, hearing loss may be an issue with a percentage of the targeted audience, but I still don't think that top-40 style audio processing works for the format.)
A cleaner sound will help KIXI to sound less like a cheap AM signal and more in line with the dynamic range of a wide range of music. And it does make it easier to listen to for longer periods without getting fatigued by the hard pumping audio. I think this will prove itself among the "older" audience (not necessarily your grandparents, either) who want a station they can relax a bit with, and hear songs and artists they forgot they liked and haven't heard for years.
Good luck, and good listening,
GL
