KIXI New Years Eve Party at the Westin...

..this year - it's been scrapped!

It's a FIRST for AM 880 after a good/many number of years -

- in fact, the WESTIN has absolutely NO parties planned there 'AT ALL' New Year's Eve

Did any Seattle radio stations run special programming on New Year's Eve?

Only one I knew of was KPLU running NPR's annual "Toast of the Nation" from jazz clubs in each time zone. Always a nice touch, and helps make stay at home listeners feel like they're out on the town without having to dodge the drunk drivers.

Worst New Year's radio choice is an automated station playing commercials and positioning statements at Midnight without even a voicetracked countdown to Midnight or a version of Auld Lang Syne.

Also, TV running the Times Square countdown in New York on a three hour time delay seemed really lame.
