KIXS Downgrade?

What was the reason of KIXS downgrading? They had the antenna on a 900' + tower and now went down to 505 and 100kw. It use to be the strongest station in Victoria. Now its just about like the rest of them only going out 20-30 miles.

Just a guess but downgrading Victoria does give Liberman a chance to move the tower for his class c 107.9 licensed to Beaumont closer to Houston.

Except that Liberman moved both 107.9 and 98.5 to a new Devers area tower just a couple of years ago. I doubt they are going to spend money on yet another new facility.

A KIXS downgrade would possibly reduce some of the co-channel interference headache on the south and west sides of the Houston market that frequently occurs during tropo conditions.
