KJ SHOULD PLAY XMAS MUSIC IN THE AFTERNOON INSTEAD OF CRAMER HIS RATINGS WERE A FLUKE

I know nothing about the KJ of the present.

I prefer to remember KJ as it was when I cruised through OKC as a teen in the late 80's - early 90's.

What a powerhouse that station was. Amazing. The energy coming out of those speakers was pure adrenaline.

One of the first times I ever got goosebumps listening to the radio.

Ohh yeah I remember as a kid Listening to KJ-103 and Listening to Ronnie Rocket in the afternoon and Joe Friday in the middays and BOB and Josh. What ever happened to Bob and Josh anyway?

What's funny is, the PD responsible for your "powerhouse" is still there...when did McCoy start, '89? Of course, CC was alot different in '89 too; and their only stations in town were KJ and KTOK.

I don't know. I haven't heard KJ since about 1992 or so.

I can't really comment on their current state of product.

But they did make an impression on me at one point in time.

I have to take great exception to this. KJ-103 of the late 80's and early 90's was already in their downhill slide. Their heyday was mid to late 80's. I would say '85 to '88 or '89. Beginning right around the time KOFM flipped. By the time they started calling themselves "Kontinuous Jamz 103", it was over.

I used to love when they would give the weather in the mid 80's, especially during the winter. "It's 25 in Edmond, 27 in Oklahoma City. And at KJYO, it's always a hot 102.7!"

I think that KJ is just trying to keep up with the current trends. They do not need to copy and try to keep up with the other stations around here. What KJ needs to do is to be original.

All I knew was what I heard. And it sounded great to a 16 year old from out of town.

Things change and it's hard to compare what KJ IS now to what it WAS then. All I can say is I totally agree that KJ was one HELL of a great station back in the Power Hits KJ103 days. They really benefited from the demise of KOFM IMHO. Mark Shannon in the morning and Mike Blake at night tearing up the phones at night was just awesome. I long for the days of great radio when the industry actually seemed to give a damn.
