What everybody has been waiting for (well, not really) but KJCB is back on the air.
According to the FCC they are operating with an STA from a location in Breaux Bridge. Daytime power output is still 1KW, but nighttime is now non directional with 0.125KW. At my location in South Lafayette, they actually sound stronger than before. I guess operating a 300 foot longwire suspended 20 feet high from 2 telephone poles kicks butt! If they can get a one share Arbitron 12+ without even being on the air, just imagine what they'll get actually broadcasting!
In an unrelated AM radio station story, KVOL 1330 has been mostly off the air the past week. If they need any help, there are lots of telephone poles around here.
