KJCE dumps W&J and reverts to old schedule

With ratings that round off to zero I didn't give Walton & Johnson long in Austin.
KJCE 1370 returns to
5-8am America's Morning News
8-11am Laura Ingraham
11-1 Dennis Miller
etc.

So 1370 turned back the clock to about 4 years ago...........I never understood the W&J schtick, were they trying to be funny? Shocking? Interesting? They failed on all accounts with me.

Austin is such a liberal city in a sea of Conservative Talk Radio. Why run a secondary Conservative Talk line up (Miller, Ingram, etc.)? Wouldn't a mix of Progressive Talk (Hartmann, Schultz, Miller, Colmes) and Service Talk (Chuck Howard, Dave Ramsey, Dr. Joy Browne) make more sense?

Why not leave KLBJ with Rush and his buddies and go a different Talk Radio path? Especially with a signal that doesn't reach very far outside Austin and its liberal suburbs?

Liberal talk has been tried and failed in the form of air amerika which aired locally on KOKE-AM 1600.

Cable news audiences are notoriously small when you consider their nationwide reach. One strong major market local TV newscast will hit as many viewers as most cable news shows.

But back to W&J. I grew up on the old Hudson and Harrigan on KILT Houston back in it's glory top 40 days. Clever, funny, topical stuff. When I first heard W&J I was expecting that, but it turned out to be the same old same old done in character voices.

I thought W&J was bland during their final tenure at KLOL.
Clear Channel probably should have shown them the door a couple of years before the flip to Mega. Tom Joyner, I usually listen to on KMJQ and Dean and Rog on KKRW back in the early 00's.

I wonder why they choose Steve Harvey instead of Tom Joyner on 96.3?

I was nice back in the day to pick up Tom Joyner on 102.1 in Houston and 810 AM in San Antonio.

I wonder if any Entercom stations air Tom Joyner?
I got to meet Mr. Joyner in person, and Chaka Khan at a show they were doing.

You can still listen to Tom Joyner if you can pick up 103.1 out of Killeen/Copperas Cove from your location. Steve Harvey syndicated show is really gathering momentum around the country for RnB stations. Steve Harvey is also on 92.3 the Z out of Killeen too.
