For the past couple years, KJCN has gotten along running a playlist of French pop, riot grrl music, and local music shows poached from a LPFM in Modesto.
I am happy to announce that the good people of Amador County have a slightly more accessible format to deal with on 107.5: Something called “Global Community Radio Channel 1”. 24/7 simulcast (this time with proper legal ID). Mostly English language broadcasts of national broadcasters. I did hear a broadcast radio geek show on there this afternoon which kept me in the car longer than expected.
Despite what the coverage maps tell you, this station is not currently broadcasting from Mt. Zion, nor does it really have the ability to broadcast beyond the Jackson Valley before getting pummeled by KZSZ up north. So if you’re trying to pick it up anywhere outside of Amador, good luck!
