KJFK 1490am in low power?

Growing up in Texas and Oklahoma, the only international stations you could regularly receive on AM weren't informative unless you spoke another language. I could occasionally get CBW 990, but not consistently enough to be able to rely on it. I live in the Midwest today, and I can get stations from the Rockies to the East Coast on AM, but the only Canadian station I can get is CJBC 860 from Toronto. I only know a simple book of French. So, that station doesn't help me.
The French Canadian French language isn’t exactly the same as France’s French language, either.

I am told that KJFK's move to the new tower site has not yet taken place, but will likely occur in the next quarter.
Really? I was within 2 and a half miles of that tower and didn’t see any HD flashing but on a web tuner I could see the sidebands

I was in Austin yesterday I actually got a HD lock they changed the calls finally to KJFK the HD sounds decent when locked.

This is sort of like the way Mexican Spanish is not the same as Cuban Spanish. There are lots of regionalisms and even words that have different meanings in each place, but those from one place can understand people from the other with considerable ease... unless we are hearing "street vernacular".

I've gotten along as well in Montreal as in Paris as far as language goes... but the folks in Montreal are infinitely nicer than the Parisians!
