Uh Oh, I meant to post this on the Urban/Urban AC/R&B Oldies Board my bad. I would feel so much better if this was moved in the proper section to avoid confusion.
 
Nope they were Mainstream Urban in the late 80's and early 90's. It failed after KPWR and KKBT full power signals overtook them.

Don't be under the impression that KJLH was a Rhythmic Top 40. I wanted to post this playlist in the URBAN/URBAN AC/R&B OLDIES section. Sorry this was COMPLETELY unintentional. wdb2003 has already answered your question. KJLH has always been an Urban AC since day one but has "spiced" up their music mix in the last two years if you catch my drift.
