KJLL Interference

I live in Orange County near the LA line. I was down in Santa Ana and KJLL was coming in fine. By the time I got to the junction of the 22 and the 5 there was so much interference that it was unlistenable. It was not IBOC. It sounded like another station on the same channel. This has only happened in the last month or so. At home (at the other end of the 22) it is the same interference. Is it summer interference from 92.5 in TJ? Is it the translator in Fontana? Or there some change that I am not aware of.

you are right, something is seriously wrong with their signal. it used to be quite good considering its like 500 watts on signal peak. but lately something bad has happened... i cant think of what it would be though. 92.5 in SD shouldn't be causing what we are hearing..

Now, doesn't JILL FM have a repeater setup in Malibu? Is it possible that there 45 watt repeater is interfering as well?

I was getting the interference again today. I tuned to both 92.5 and 92.9 and there was nothing. So it is not co-channel. And it kind of sounds like a different program rather than Mailbu or Thousand Oaks.

Well, it makes me wonder if someone put up a part-15 FM transmitter on the air or if someone has a pirate station on the air or even if Air One's 92.7 Repeater is interfering from the Inland Empire. Let me know if you hear it again and where you hear it at and for how many miles from that point. I will let the staff at JILL FM know. This should be fun for me since I am a amateur radio operator. Lol.

A Part 15 was one of my thoughts. But if it is, there is way too much power to be legal. Covers too much area. I was also thinking pirate but why 92.7? I don't beleieve that. I have not been far enough north or east of the OC to see what things sound like out there. Interference was heavy in the hill by the Circle in Long Beach today. I was on the east side where I could just about look down the coast.
