Does anyone have the history of KJMN and who were the original owners when they were Jamnin 92.1,
also why did Entravision keep the JMN call letters when they flipped from Urban to Spanish Oldies...??

I still wonder why doesn't Entravision flip this station....it's horrible in the Ratings.... :'(

Memory isn't what it used to be. You are correct, it WAS 92.5. 92.1 was licensed to Castle Rock and was a jazz station with very low power. Can't remember who owned it though. Sorry.

I read that in 1979 the 92.1 signed on as Adult Contemporary as KMJD , THEN BECAME A ALTERNATIVE ROCK, KNRX OR SOMETHING...NOT SURE IF THIS CORRECT OR NOT.

92.1 was NEVER an AC. It was a Smooth Jazz/NAC similar to today's KJCD 104.3 only it played the Jazz hits of ther time (1970s & EARLY 80s).

I forget what the calls were though. I'd have to look 'em up on Wikipedia.

Cheers :D

ANY PREDICTIONS ON KJMN.......THE RATINGS ARE NOT GOOD AT ALL. WHY NOT TRY SOMETHING ELSE??

Since Radio-Emporium is no longer inservice, does anyone know who would have some old airchecks of the old Jam'n 92.1 ?? before Entravision bought it??

When I moved to Denver in the mid-'80s, it was KADX, playing mainstream jazz. As I remember, it was running less than 1000 watts from Castle Rock, with rather spotty coverage in the metro area. Pat McNulty was the morning host at the time.

92.1 signed on as KMJD in 1978 as a country station....3000 watts in Castle Rock; studios at 512 Jerry Street - corner of 5th & Jerry just off I-25. Later became KADX with Jazz. Did it not run the national Z-Rock feed sometime later? (I think after KLZ did; could be wrong); before morphing into alternative, then urban then spanish. Perhaps some other formats in there I don't remember.

I believe you're right about 92.1 airing Z-Rock. However, I'm almost thinking it ran it right after it became national, which was before KLZ did the unthinkable and punted the country format that was doing so well. Of course, I could be thinking KDHT 92.5, which ran a rock format of some kind before going to Real Country.

I also seem to remember 92.1 was KYBG-FM for a few years and ran beautiful music/soft AC and a partial simulcast of KYBG 1090 during that time.

Yes...KYBG-FM. Forgot about that era in 92.1's history. Prior to country, KDHT 92.5 ran a homegrown format called "acoustic rock" - programmed by Ira Gordon - who made his next move to KBAC/Santa Fe - where he still is today.
