What is liberman thinking i called liberman yesturday asking about some spots on 880 and they tell me their not selling advertising on 880am hmmm... what kind of a radio station doesnt sell spots? Im interested in maybe in a LMA on 880 Anyone have a more direct number to make them a purchase offer or even a offer to LMA? No one at the Houston office seems to know what is next for the 880AM signal!
 
Did it ever cross your mind that maybe they are in the process of maybe LMAing it to someone else already. Why sell Spots when you already have a full time client?


Call again and ask them that.

I really can't think of a better excuse to not sale space.
 
Apparently the "Azucar" format currently on 880 is just filler between LMA contracts. It will disappear when Liberman finds someone else to lease the signal.
 
so should i talk to mr Liberman himself? I'm willing to keep it local with a good format but no one at the Liberman office seems to know anything about 880 But i did check out the signal and it was decent but not good enough for 10,000 watts

You could try to talk to Lenard (If you are Orthodox Jewish, that may HELP)..but if he already has a deal in the works, forget it...best to talk to the GM of the cluster here (I think thats Benny Herzog now)....If you are a UT fan, you can be friends with him real quick...then again maybe not (I think his daughters are going to A&M).......ehh just forget football....

but 880 is directional at 10KW from Conroe during the day (toward Lake Conroe and Richards).....and directional SW at night at 1KW....
both patterns put the same rf level into Houston roughly....(and it sucks to be honest...but 880 was not designed to be a Houston station; just Conroe and Mont CO.)
 
They are now trimulcasting KJOJ with KQUE and KIOX-FM. This may signal that what Juan said is coming true. From the sounds of it, they don't know what in the world they want to do with the old Conroe station. Omega, from what you said on the S.A. board, this may be the chance to pull a chunk of that 2 mil. dollars that you have to invest in a station and make an outright offer. But please, for those like me, ID the station!
