KJOJ has been sold!

CBS already owned KKHH, formerly KHJZ, formerly KIKK, formerly KHUL. You must mean KLOL. KLVI cannot move closer to Houston because of 550 KTSA.

Is that why CC divested KKHH and KHMX to CBS? Seems like the FCC said that they owned one-too-many stations in Houston when they figured out KLVI's true market.

No.

Clear Channel went private using Bain Capital and Thomas Lee Partners money. Bain and Thomas Lee Partners also hold stakes in Univision and Cumulus, therefore the Justice Department required them to spin off stations in several markets, including Houston.

Bain Capital also owns Austin's Border Media Partner stations.

KEYH's highly directional 10kw puts a solid signal over Houston. Even the 185 watts at night does suprisingly well. I think Liberman will dump 1230 but keep 850.

Gosh I wish that 850 would go off the air and give everybody a clean shot at KONO 860! KEYH isn't even a good neighbor, slopping high frequency artifacts all over 860 even if you null the garbage on 850 out the best you can.

I remember not too long ago, I DXed KOA Denver clearly--got the TOH ID and the programming with no static, that is until KEYH was granted night authoriztion.

I just Dx'd it KOA tonight out of Austin.
