KJOY Long Island Love Songs question

Was listening to KJOY last night and as usual the automated husky voice-over chimes " By popular demand love songs and nothing but love songs. Long Island love songs." I've been curious about this. Was there really clamor on the island for them to bring back sappy love songs? I enjoy it but I just wonder if this statement is indeed true.

Oh, for the love of everything holy, do you know NOTHING about radio programming? I suppose it's possible that Barnstable spent $20-30K researching this very issue, but my guess is that it's just positioning. In other words, it's just a liner that someone wrote to justify a particular programming element.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

LI Radiofan:
Are you sure it was an automated voice? I recall you may have had some problems in the past deciphering between automation/voicetracking and a live (yet uncommitted to their job) personality.
Maybe KJOY should fire their husky automation voice because its sooooo confusing and it could be going through the motions.

amusing sarcasm, but yes i know full well the announcements are automated because after John Tesch concludes at 10 there are no air staff until Jim and Kim arrive at 5.

Still, you now owe two (2) apologies to the voicetracking babes on KJOY.
Remember your last little faux pas?
In case you forgot, here was my response.

Dear LIRadiofan226:

I appreciate your passion for radio broadcasting. You are totally entitled to your opinions, but you're previous topic/post was so irresponsible and full of incorrect information and assumptions. You were obviously duped by a talented broadcaster who knows how to convey general enthusiasm and warmth through a computer!

I also believe that when you question someone's committment to their job and you have absolutely have no clue about the person and/or the job they are performing, you are doing quite a disservice to your fellow members of this board.

Although I do not work for a radio station right now, I now know why many gainfully employed radio people hardly visit this site.
Such a shame considering we all know many talented people in this business and we all love it so much.

The subject of this posting did not know about this until yesterday, and says she will frontsell the latest forecast from the Weather channel more often when needed. At least you brought it to their attention. That would have been the responsible thing to do in the first place.
