KJR AM/FM

Mentioned this in a thread below but doncha think the cowboys at Clear Channel are looking at what KOMO is trying to do to KIRO-FM by throwing a combo against em and thinkin hmmmmmmmmm  Imagine throwing KJR-AM on KNBQ and simulcasting against KIRO-AM. KJR blows chunks in the south end especially at night so the move makes even more sense than the KOMO 1000/97.7 combo. This combo might save jobs because KNBQ is running the Clear Channel out of market country format and staff so blwoin it up ain't no big deal. Plus we got two country stations pounding on each other already. If KJR AM/FM wins people keep jobs :p Not sayin its gonna happen but it sure makes sense especially if the KOMO-FM gets an extra couple of share points.

Sure, why not. A KJR simulcast would give Bonneville fitz. Or would that be Entercom? :'( :-* :-\ :-X :-[ :p ::)

Huh? I live in the south end(Lakewood to be exact) and even on my old walkman and AM/FM presonal CD Player KJR 950 gets great reception down here at night. Plus if i'm not mistaken isn't KJR 950 50,000 watts already? If the station has a huge signal then why would they need an FM simulcast; BTW I have been on vacation a couple of different places(British Columbia and the Oregon Coast) and at night KJR's signal comes in almost as if you were in the Seattle area listening.

I know you really want to see KNBQ throw in the country towel (could help KKWF at least...right?)

Is it also a sign that perhaps you now realize KMPS really was a bigger contender than you expected? You just don't walk into Seattle with big plans of domination and expect to instantly have everybody falling at your feet and everyone from KHIT to the WTO have had to learn that the hard way. This is not that kind of town.

But looking at KKWF's current 12+ ratings (for whatever they're worth to anybody), they really aren't that bad and for a newer "brand" station battling out a legendary undefeated local champ, you should actually be grateful to get what you've already got. "Young Country" at their peak back in the '90s NEVER had it this good. But that was probably a given when it also played these weird Shania Twain/Def Leppard remixes, "Cows With Guns" Dana Lyons, etc. into the ground and had an echo chamber like an elephant farting in a wind tunnel.....

But I'm afraid this is as good as it gets for 100.7. KKWF will still have to settle for a distant second overall in the country radio war and not even the disappearance of KNBQ is going to change that. Besides, it wouldn't help 100.7 much and could (inadvertently, yet potentially) even benefit KMPS......

So be careful what you wish for......

It will be funny as all get out when "Big D and Bubba" beats "Fitz" ;D ;D hahaha
Hey! Never know what could happen in PPM! :p Nothing is recall, its all "Live action"! ;)
(did i use enough emotions? lol)
