Quietly, it appears KJR-FM is making solid inroads out there. Why do you think they're doing better these days? thanks.

Probably because KBSG's former PD is now at the helm of 95.7. And he's a darn good programmer.

Must be, he's already turned this pig around in less than a year. They seem much more on track than they were in 2002.......

He's a good programmer, but a very bad person. Only people that have never worked for him would say any different. Why do you think the higher-ups at Entercom showed him the door at KBSG? CC is going to get exactly what they deserve with him... good luck with all that!

More music and promotion - more billboards, TV ads...

An improving online audience w/prompt e-mail sign-up alerts..

Better Charlie Brown buffers after commercial breaks and more "worth-while' contests
-(esp free Stones/Springsteen/McCartney tickets)

Incorrect.

The split was a mutual decision, as he was in the middle of a contract. It was spawned by the new corporate Oldies PD (in Baltimore) wanting the station to sound more east coast-like.

huh?

Oldies in Baltimore was owned by Infinity (KJR-FM is CC, KBSG Entercom).

How would a different company's Oldies PD in Baltimore be influencing an Entercom or Clear channel Programmer in Seattle ? ? ?

Re: huh?

Right. I didn't want to say the name. If you want to find out, go ahead. This person was the PD at the Infinity Oldies station out there, and is now the VP/Programming for Entercom.

Right...

AQH blurted:

>>>> This person was the PD at the Infinity Oldies station out there...

Thank you Mike Preston's (of Infinity Seattle) LACKEY....
(lest we forget)

Sure.... so after all these years of being at KBSG he just decides, in the middle of a contract, to leave? That is what he told everyone, but you know what they say... don't believe the hype! Mr. Kelly was humiliated when he was told by the new guy from Baltimore that his contrcat would not be re-signed and that he shouldn't let the door hit him on the way out of the radio business. You've always struck me as a smart guy AQH... I'm sure if you think about what you said, you'll realize it makes no sense and is nothing more than a sad man trying to "save face". You may think you know... but I actaully do.

There's more to the story. If you know Jay Kelly, go ask him about his introduction to his new VP/Programming boss and further ask about the initial exchange. I'll just leave it at that.

Yes, there are two sides to every story, no question about it. And I do take what I learned with a grain of salt. But remember, Entercom re-hired Kelly. Not only that, they hired him prior to aforementioned VP/Programming was hired.

Thank you for the compliment about 'smart guy' thing. If you want to be believe me or not, that's up to you -- I'm not going to lose any sleep. I may have already gone too far in what I know, and I can't go any further that what I've said.
