Clayton Allen was out of the building yesterday. Look for a new PD and morning show?
 
So what happened here? DId he get a better gig? It would be hard to believe they would fire him after this last book!

HA HA HA! Oh, that's a good one. Holy crap. I laughed so hard the Dr. Pepper came out my nose. "hard to believe they would fire him after this last book!" WOW. That's really funny.

Loyalty is ENCOURAGED -- but rarely REWARDED.
 
Calm Down folks...this was a stunt by KJ to propel Clayton Allan to the now obvious opening back in Corpus Christi at KOUL or maybe to Dallas at the Wolf? May inquiring minds want to know! Also to attract people to the morning show in anticipation of a new morning Co-host. I think Tara from the Wolf should apply for that post at KJ she would be great!

Will you guys get a clue! Two guys in the Morning were at the top of their game when Clayton heard about the opening at KOUL...KJ decided to give him a huge farewell sendoff in this stunt they pulled...it was planned. Did you guys even see the the PD position open up at KOUL almost at the same time as this stunt. Don't be surprised to see Cactus Lou head back south as well...both were from Corpus.

Those two..Clayton and Cactus took KJ to the top in the ratings due to their smaller market experience and for the fact they know Country music!
 
This wasn't a stunt. Clear Channel doesn't own 103.7 KOUL. CC owns K99. Right now Clayton is sitting on his deck next to his $20,000 BBQ grill laughing at this thread and all of the speculation. Clayton has a keen sense of direction and should move up in market, not down.
 
I'm not sure where redbullfan got his info. This was not a stunt. And if it is being positioned as a stunt, CC San Antonio management is doing that to save face to losing a good man like Clayton. Fact is that Clayton's contract was not renewed. Typical bad decision on management's part, but what can you expect with an unknown kid running the market. And you're right, Clayton will land in a bigger market outside SA. Grab your sunscreen and shades Clayton, Miami is looking good for you!
 
I REALLLLLLLLY doubt those old CC/Corpus guys would wanna go back and work for Kent Cooper...Now GM at KOUL. He's a big reason why lots of good talent LEFT Corpus...Michelle Lee, Clayton, Lou, Kelli Cluque and others...
 
I don't think Cooper has anything do with any of this. Clayton and Lou didn't leave until a couple of years AFTER Cooper left Corpus Christi. Get your facts straight.
 
If you are in the radio business as career, in your 30’s, just came off a #1 book, good trends, and have a top rated morning show ... why would you want to move from market 29 to market 136? Seems to me he should be moving up, say to top ten.
