KKBA flips to Rock?

This afternoon I saw on Facebook they are flipping to 92.7 rock? I thought KBAY was doing well?

This still shows it as K-Bay, with Rhythmic AC. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KKBA
Can't get the stream on the website to work.

I like both Rhythmic AC and Rock, so either way is cool. I will say I think that there needs to be more Rhythmic AC stations though.

I think like C101 not sure I havn't listened.

Their website is under construction but their live stream is working. They have a decent playlist similar to C101. Mostly newer rock and 90s-2000s hard rock. Haven't heard an 80's rock song which is what most active/mainstream rock stations would normally play.

Only one problem with the station, is it run by Pandora? Because there are constant commercial breaks between songs. It's like song, song, commercial, song, commercial, song, song, commercial, song. Sad :(

I like the idea of commercials spaced out with songs in between them, that way I'm not listening to 8 commercials at once or something during a long break.
They could do two commercials at once instead of one to even it out.

I've been doing that for a long time. The radio experts tell me I'm crazy not to do traditional stop-sets. Maybe I am, since I don't see giant throngs of people listening. Maybe the general public simply doesn't care.

KAHL does that here in San Antonio, one commercial at a time and you're running almost the same format. Maybe it's a trend with adult standards and oldies stations that's getting bigger?

I'd prefer the "2 minutes of commercials or less" method. More music, less talk, and less commercials that I know some radio stations do.

Perhaps. That would be good. I really don't know why people will sit through 8-10 or more commercials in a row.

From time to time, I do check in to see what other stations in my area are doing. I caught one doing 14 spots in a row. I couldn't believe it. The only reason I stayed tuned in was so I could count how many spots they were running. Maybe there is some truth to the saying, "Nobody ever went broke by underestimating the taste of the American public."
