KKDJ Fresno

Mr. Cocola is almost a god -- in the TV business. Mr. White is his handyman . That said -- they need to step up and stop messing around with low powered FM. Both 94.7 Firebaugh and KAAX Avenal will never cover Fresno or any where near Fresno.

Shake loose of some pocket cash and buy a real over the air -- FULL powered FM station.
The Hanford - Tulare KGEN combo was about 350 K. The Porterville 1450 AM was a third
of that.

Drop in a new FM that would cover the Fresno area much better than a LPFM or LP translator.
Any of the 3 open Class A channels -- all from the West Hills would cover 10 times the coverage of any LPFM.

Step up and BUY a radio station we could all listen too.

"Dean did tell me on the phone this morning a big announcement is about to happen he said keep listening he could not say some legal reason. "
It might be the pending move to 102.3??

Anything less than buying a real full power FM or AM would be no news what so ever. Any LPFM or translator is worthless. LPFM's and Translators can always be forced to relocate or even be deleted.

"Branding" on Radio is NOT like on TV. Once you brand a radio station and than relocate you loose all of your listeners.

Once someone Drops 92.3 A into Corcoran -- than the 92.5 LPFM in Hanford is Toast.

Well first of all, those so called Wests Hills open class A channels would not be listenable in Metro Fresno, there no more room, the band is full, they would be subjected to Adjacent and Co-channel interference, KKDJ got one of the last spots and should stay there, unless Gary Cocola can buy an existing full power station, but it would be one not owned by a group, maybe 98.3 KZLA ??? the only usable frequency left is 102.3.

KKDJ can't stay there, it's only a matter of time, besides 102.3 would work better anyway.

Out of curiosity, which Class A channels would not be listenable in the Fresno area? The 2 currently broadcasting from the west side hills can be heard decently throughout the Metro Fresno area

KUTM 92.7 is hard to get do to KFSO 92.9, KBHH 95.3 is fine, no Adjacent or Co-Channel on that one, The discussion was getting a new Class A for KKDJ, one not built yet and there's no more room in metro Fresno for anymore full power signals, 102.3 can be used for LPFM, better than 99.7 for KKDJ.

Of the two current Class A stations broadcasting from the west side hills, KBHH 95.3 does cover the Fresno area decently, with KUTM 92.7 as I believe I mentioned in a previous thread, as being impacted by KFSO 92.9 HD side band.
My question was more of which of the current 3 unused Class A application signals from the west side hills would not be usable in the Fresno area?

Good question for MisterGort, He's the one that mentioned them, What are these 3 unused Class A Stations? What Frequencies are they? then we can determine if they will work in Metro Fresno without IBOC, and or Adjacent and Co-Channel interference , I also wonder why KOKO 94.3 didn't move to the West Hills with Forge 95.3.

Both of those stations are licensed to Kerman, and can't move any closer to Fresno. The West Hills location for 95.3 puts a 60 dbu on less than 50,000 people, while KOKO at least has fringe coverage of the urban area of Fresno... although not much of it. Both are Class A stations with limited power.

The unused allocations are such that they cover only a few thousand people and are for all practical purposes useless.

So, here we are a week later... Anyone seen or heard from Dean O.? Now, back to the hits of yesteryear.
"Dean did tell me on the phone this morning a big announcement is about to happen he said keep listening he could not say some legal reason. "
It might be the pending move to 102.3??
