You can put Pat McMahon on FM, but you can't force anyone under 70 to listen.
Actually 92.3 is the average AGE of a Pat McMahon listener :eek:Nurse Jeff and I think CC will cannibalize one of their FMs to become KFYI-FM before the Men In Secret Underwear get this thing through the FCC. An LMA is KT'R's best hope to be the first news/talk FM in Phoenix. So if BOTH KFYI & KT'R go FM, does that mean the end of AM radio as we've known it? We think YES. :-*
Hardly anyone under 30 even knows how to find the AM tuner on their radios. The next generation of radio listeners doesn't care about AM and never will. The rise of Limbaugh and other conservative talk imitators 20 years ago were AM's stay of execution, but the writing's on the wall. What happened to music on AM in the late 80s will soon happen to talk programming.

Yeah, Right

The Men In Secret Underwear selling Power 92's intellectual property ;D That outta reduce the $77.5m sales price by at least $50k. BTW...anyone recall what TMISU paid for KT'R, KKLT & KMVP after factoring out the Chicago FM that went to the Emmis Brain Trust?

It is good idea CBS might flip KMLE Country to "POWER"

CBS Radio KMLE might pick up KKFR call letter, CHR/Rhythmic format and Power "moniker" on 107.9 to replace KMLE Country. Might be Power 108 or Power 107.9??

Where did you hear this from? If CBS were to buy the Power 92 "Intellectual Property" (talk about an oxymoron!), I think it'd be smarter to dump FreeFallingFM and put it on 101.5.

Despite its slump as of late, KMLE is still a major money maker for CBS. I'd have to agree with Keith regarding Free FM being the place CBS would place Power if they were to buy the rights. If they were to pull the plug on KOOL-FM like they did in New York and Chicago with the Oldies stations there (in particular, NYC and CBS-FM), expect an outcry from the Baby Boomers.Speaking of Boomer outcry, would there be any if Sandusky were to quietly put KDKB to rest and place Power on 93.3? It's sad to see a 35-year-old format go, but does KDKB still have that much relevance in the Phoenix market?
