KKJZ James Janisse signs off

Question about this Public Station?

or I should say this group of Public stations. How can they afford to operate with Professional Air Talent covered under an AFTRA contract?. They sure are good!

Quality is as quality pays.

I'm sorry he's gone, in the sense that he was at the station so long, but I never really cared for him. I'm also sad to see that people still need to focus on the race of an announcer ... if they're good, and know what they're talking about, and you want to listen to them, what does it matter? Same with gender. The morning team stinks, but it's not because they're white or they're women - it's because they're on the wrong station, that's all.

But this little throwaway at the end of the article is what really interests me. For a station that's always crying the blues (so to speak) about their finances, this is a really big financial hit. And why not name names?

"A December L.A. Superior Court decision awarded a former program director $780,000 for revenues lost when he was improperly dismissed."
