KKLF 1700 to comedy 2/1

I listened today and laughed a few times... Of course, it was some financial show. What a joke!

I laugh myself to sleep listening to Coast To Coast AM knucklehead martian sightings. Great cure for insomnia.

Insomnia winner would be the Davisson ADD hour but I don't want to sleep at 6pm on Saturdays.

If that makes you ROTFLYAO, may I suggest the wall to wall lineup of brokered financial shows on KRLD-AM? Brenaham is the only serious one. For even bigger laugh, listen to the guys who have the markets timed on Saturday mornings and The Gold Show on Sundays. See if you can guess who has the fakest English accent! ;D

It wasn't laughter so much as disbelief, when I was listening on the road during the 2:00 hour on Sunday. After two minutes I had to change the station and pull into a convenience store for a cup of strong coffee. Snooooooooooze!

Why is there so much crap on AM radio on the weekend ?

My guess is that people pay to broadcast it & the stations are happy to cash their checks.

The only thing remotely interesting on AM radio is Ed Wallace.

Variety of car talk, some politics, US history & rock n roll trivia. Cool show that doesn't just beat the same dead horse over & over for hours on end.

"...but at the end of the day, I digress."
-Ed Wallace-

So is it comedy yet? Do I need to go out and get a radio that tunes up to 1700 kHz? I've realized that all my usual AM listening radios are too old to tune up that high. Fire up the shortwave I guess...

Tuned in at lunch and noticed the switch.

Heard Jeff Foxworthy, "I saw my grandmother naked."

Uh...

This has got to be one of the least discussed format flips in DFW history :D

I hear ya, everything else is quiet. No format rumors.

Could hear it last night in the car, mixed together with one or two other distant stations, so co-channel interference is pretty bad and I'm in N Dallas where KKLF's signal is supposed to be good as per the map.

KVNS really does a number on KKLF at night. Even here in McKinney
In Wylie if I use a long wire KVNS will ALWAYS be on top with no trace of KKLF.

Back when KTCK simulcast on KKLF, I always caught KVNS and also an ESPN station out of Iowa when I was driving north in Oklahoma before sunrise and lost 104.1.

George....heard some funny stuff yesterday. Don't recall the standup's name, but his bit on monogamous penguins was just plain goofy. I was laughing so hard I damn near drove off the freeway.
