I really don't like the KKLZ website...it looks so 90's looking. Why don't they upgrade it and start streaming over the net. When I look at KKLZ's website, it feels like I have turned my watch back to 1996.

Yes it is Beth Monk from KMXB and Metro traffic doing KKLZ mornings and 7pm to midnight monday through friday. can't wait to see how the new line-up sounds. it looks like kklz is coming back and hard!

Dan Lea was let go from KKLZ. Dan was told that he would be just doing the music and to go home and they'd call him when they were ready. Finally, Kahuna had the balls to call him and tell him that "they" were letting him go.
Too bad for KKLZ. Dan Lea should have been programming KKLZ, not that drunk, no talent, ego maniac Kahuna.

But the rest of the KKLZ staff (except for Backseat Beth who they just hired) are not exactly young and fit either. Come to think of it, hardly any of the airstaff at any of the 3 Beasley stations are especially young.
Hot 97.5 is the only station in town that truly has a young airstaff. The CBS stations (at least the three that have jocks) have young-ish air talent which makes sense considering they are mostly targeting 18-34.
I don't expect anyone to agree with me in this superficial day and age, but when I listen to a library based format like classic rock, I prefer to hear jocks that grew up with the music and know it well (and Dan Lea knew it as well as anyone). Hiring young jocks will not get young listeners on a station that plays old music. If they thought Dan was too old, KKLZ might as well switch formats to active rock and battle with KOMP and EXTREME.
