Who would have thought a move-in station would be as high rated at KKNG in these short number of years since they turned it on in Newcastle. Where would they have been if they had went beautiful music? Although the country format demands a much greater overhead, I think they would have been a lot worse off if they hadn't went country. The second best thing that ever happened to them was KQSR. The best thing that ever happened to the modern Tyler broadcasting, without a doubt, is the whole Mexican radio thing. Hopefully UHF TV won't be their undoing.
