KKNG..Probably one of the best programmed country stations in the entire country, if not the best for music. If you disagree please point out a better station. I was working in Oklahoma City for nearly the entire month of May, so that's my point of reference.
 
They're pretty good, I have to admit. KKNG Country is what happens when you put 'ol pros in the saddle and let them do their jobs, for the most part. It's not as much an expense thing as it's just letting good people do their thing and trying to stay out of their way while they are doing it. The only downfall of that bunch is trying to force things that can't and won't work into running right, namely that damn UHF TV station. Sometimes knowing one's limitations and going with the flow does the best for one's outcome. If I were the boys, I'd strongly consider trying to find someone stupid enough to cash them out of the TV business before it costs them even more money. Focusing on being good RADIO broadcasters of more stations around the state, etc. would be much more productive use of their abilities. Hell, they have one of the best consultants in country radio right there in their own building... He's related.Congrads once again to Kevin, Lynn, Bill, Olan, and all the other guys there. You're professionalism shines though in this world of corporate crap out there on the Oklahoma airwaves.It continues to amaze me to think 93.3 could have been easy listening.. Wow.. Thank GOD that didn't happen, huh? Thank you Crap Channel for KQSR. Without that brainy move 93.3 would have been very insignificant today.Who would have predicted a move-in of less than a decade ago would be chart-topper now... Who says you can't do it twice, huh? :)
 
its funny. Hurley and Yeagers Husband can't beat them with there two country stations. But Yet its more funny that KBULL could'nt beat anybody
 
The problem the Bull had, other than the fact there were wayyy too many country stations they were competing agaist, was that they changed their music from more of the red dirt stuff to generic country. Effectively, they lost the reason why many bothered to change over to their lesser signal. Then they moved freqencies, which was a bad idea in retrospect. A country audience doesn't like inconsistancy. Changing the music AND the frequency consecutively was the kiss of death for them IMHO.

I agree KKNG is a great sounding country station. They do have outstanding people at KKNG. But 102.5 KNIX in Phoenix, and "The big 98" WSIX in Nashville are both better from a music and imaging standpoint. Give it time they haven't been here too long. As time goes on the station will just get better. The two stations I mentioned have been around for quite some time.
