KKOB-FM

93.3 KOB FM in Albuquerque had a great idea when they came up with the pop tags at the end of every song. They've been doing it for more than a couple years now. What are the chances of other stations doing the same thing? Gives their station a real unique sound. Wish KHKS here in Dallas would try something like that.

WJIM in Lansing has been doing that since they launched in late 2005. I believe there's another station elsewhere here in the Midwest that does the same. I wasn't sure what to make of it at first, but it's grown on me.

I also like the idea. It be cool if more and more stations got into doing that..Especially for those who always ask that question..."Who sings that?" It is almost like the MTV or VH-1 of radio.

If you don't care to listen to find out, pop tags are basically... well, just what they sound like! They're a little "POP!-whoosh" sound, and an announcer states the artist and title of the song over the "whoosh" sound.

KZPT. Yes they do bad in ratings but nonetheless the ending tags just sound odd & totally out of place.

At least make them sound cool, like "Here's new Rihanna..." (5-10 second clip) "on Kiss FM!", or something interesting.

BTW they sound odd also because they are at the end.
