KKOS/KUPR Format

A quick question. As a neophyte to this group, perhaps you can show me the light. A few years back KKOS changed freqs from 95.9 and call letters to KUPR at 95.7 in Carlsbad. At that time they played a mix of music that I found unique, and mostly to my liking. Currently, I am searching for a format to replace something now missing, but I don't know what to call it. I tried returning to 95.7, but the Banjo & Skeeter show just doesn't do it for me. Does anyone remember what format KKOS/KUPR adhered to? Who was the PD then, and where is she/he now?

I think KPRI (originally, Sets 102.1) filled the gap after KUPR became country, (then Magic, then Mix, then KOOL, then back to country again). It is shame, I liked KUPR, it had a very mainstream sound, and played a lot of the same music that Star and even 91X did, but without any hype. Good signal, too! They could have used a better name, though.
