Hi

Did KKXT cancel Mountain Stage, Sound Opinion, Thistle & Shamrock, and Putamayo World Music Hour? They're not on their website under schedules.

They might as well cancel KKXT... They are even getting beat by The Ticket's stream, KSKY and KTFW's weak signal. :D

Had KKXT playing on a mono table radio today out in the garage. They played Traffic Dear Mr. Fantasy and Winwood's vocal was almost non-existant like it was almost completely phased out. Not sure if that's the source or result of processing or what, but it did not sound very good.

I noticed that too. What a joke. Who is surprised that a station playing obscure music also gets obscure ratings.

At least PPM is confirming that if the content is compelling, streaming is a real opportunity.

Why all the hate?

KXT is playing many of the same tracks as other noncomm AAA stations across the country that do pretty well, like WXPN in Philly, WFUV in NYC and KCMP in Minneapolis. It's not a format designed to generate huge ratings as much as it is designed to build a loyal audience and generate a solid membership base, which takes time. Their playlist is not "obscure" for many people, even if it may be for you. Step outside your MOR/AOR/CHR box a little bit and get to know the AAA format before passing judgment.

Amen to that.

Exactly! I truly appreciate KXT.
